Zesco United Honour Outstanding Performers at End-of-Season Awards Gala
Siakombo Scoops Top Honors as Team Ya Ziko Celebrates 2025/26 Campaign
Zesco United Football Club officially wrapped up its 2025/26 season with a prestigious End-of-Season Awards Gala held at Mukuba Hotel in Ndola.
The event brought together players, club executives, sponsors, stakeholders and invited guests to celebrate the season and recognize individuals who made significant contributions throughout the campaign.
The ceremony was attended by Copperbelt Province Permanent Secretary Lawrence Mwanza, whose presence highlighted the continued support for football development in Zambia. Club partners, supporters and members of the Zesco United family were also acknowledged for their role in supporting the team both on and off the field.
Siakombo Claims Double Award Success
Midfielder Abraham Siakombo emerged as the standout performer of the evening after collecting the club’s two most prestigious awards.
His impressive displays throughout the season earned him both the Footballer of the Season and Players’ Player of the Season accolades, underlining his importance to the team during the campaign.
Siakombo’s consistency, leadership and influence in midfield made him one of the club’s most reliable performers despite a challenging season.
Chongo and Mukonta Recognized
Veteran defender Kabaso Chongo was honored with the Most Consistent Player Award after another solid season at the heart of the team’s defense.
Goalkeeper Lindo Mukonta was also recognized for his professionalism and discipline, receiving the Most Disciplined Player Award.
The award reflected his conduct, commitment and dedication throughout the season both on and off the pitch.
Hiver Enjoys Memorable Night
Forward Amine Hiver was another major winner during the gala after collecting two awards.
His goalscoring exploits earned him the Top Scorer Award, while supporters voted him Fans’ Player of the Season following a series of impressive performances in attack.
Hiver’s contribution in front of goal proved crucial for Team Ya Ziko during several key moments of the campaign.
Young Talent Continues to Shine
The club also celebrated its commitment to youth development by recognizing emerging talent within the squad.
Youngster Derrick was named Young Player of the Season after a breakthrough campaign that showcased his potential and promise for the future.
His award highlighted Zesco United’s ongoing efforts to nurture the next generation of players capable of making an impact at the highest level.
