Mulenga, Rally Bwalya Part Ways with NAPSA Stars Ahead of New Season

NAPSA Stars FC have confirmed the departure of experienced duo Augustine Mulenga and Rally Bwalya after the expiry of their contracts, as the club begins preparations for the new MTN Super League campaign.

Former Zambia national football team forward Augustine Mulenga and midfielder Rally Bwalya leave REIZ Arena after helping the Pensioners maintain their top-flight status last season.

The pair made valuable contributions during the 2025/26 campaign, with each registering two goals and two assists as NAPSA Stars secured their place in the MTN Super League.

The Lusaka-based outfit has also announced the exits of defender David Bulaya and wingers Habib Kyombo Haji and Tresor Ilunga, whose contracts have also come to an end.

Meanwhile, midfielder Sydney Phiri has returned to his parent club, Nkwazi FC, after completing his loan spell at NAPSA. Phiri chipped in with one goal during his time with the Pensioners.

Elsewhere, FC MUZA* have begun a major squad overhaul following their relegation to the ZPL National League.

The Zambia Correctional Service-sponsored club has released 13 players as it prepares for life in the second tier. Among those departing are defender Allan Kapila and midfielder George Simbayambaya, who both return to Red Arrows FC after their loan deals expired.

Emmanuel Chabula has rejoined Nkwazi FC, while Muya Kaweme returns to Ama Soccer following the conclusion of his loan spell.

Several other players have also exited the club after their contracts expired, including Maximilian Elimbi, Vincent Bivakumana, Kunda Mazinga, Emmanuel Okutu, Kelvin Mavinga, Emmanuel Kunda and Obeddy Masumbuko. Goalkeeper Eric Makungu and right-back Lewis Chola have also left as part of the restructuring process.

With player movements accelerating across the league, both NAPSA Stars and the relegated side are expected to continue reshaping their squads ahead of the 2026/27 season.

*Note: Your source refers to “FC Leopards” as the Zambia Correctional Service-sponsored club. That appears inconsistent, as the Zambia Correctional Service-sponsored club is commonly known as Green Eagles. If you’re rewriting from a supplied source only, you can keep the original wording, but it’s worth verifying this detail before publishing to avoid a factual error.
