Kanyamuna Delighted To Begin New Chapter With Nkana FC
Midfielder Abel Kanyamuna has expressed his excitement after completing a move to Nkana FC, describing the transfer as a dream opportunity to join one of Zambia’s most successful football clubs.
The talented midfielder is among the latest additions to Kalampa’s squad as the club continues preparations for the 2026/27 MTN Super League season. Nkana have also recruited defender Simon Chipanama and midfielder Francis “Bubu” Mutalange from Atletico Lusaka as part of their rebuilding process.
Speaking after his unveiling, Kanyamuna said joining the Kitwe giants is a special moment in his career and one he has been waiting for.
“I am very happy to be here. Nkana is one of the biggest clubs in the country, and it is a privilege to wear this jersey,” Kanyamuna said.
“It is a club I have always admired. There was interest before, but the move did not happen at the time. I am grateful that everything has finally worked out, and I am looking forward to this new challenge.”
The 24-year-old arrives with valuable experience gained during spells abroad, having previously been attached to Portuguese club CD Trofense and Italian side Cagliari Calcio.
Kanyamuna believes his exposure to different football environments will help him make a positive contribution as Nkana aim to return to competing for major honours.
“My responsibility now is to work hard and give everything for the badge. I want to contribute to the team’s success through discipline, commitment, and sacrifice. The goal is to help Nkana get back to where the club belongs, fighting for trophies and achieving success,” he said.
Nkana have been active in the transfer market as they seek to strengthen their squad ahead of the new campaign. Chipanama has signed a two-and-a-half-year contract, while both Kanyamuna and Mutalange have also committed their futures to the club on similar deals, with Mutalange’s agreement including an option for an additional year.
The new arrivals are expected to play an important role as Kalampa look to improve on last season’s performance and challenge for silverware once again.
