Ngoma reveals seasonal target with Highlanders FC

Zambian striker Isaac Ngoma has revealed his ambition to finish the season with at least 10 goals despite a delayed start to life in the Zimbabwean Premier League.

The Highlanders FC forward has adapted quickly since joining the club, registering two goals and three assists in just five starts before his progress was interrupted by work permit delays.

Currently, Hardrock FC striker Washington Navaya and Herentals forward Ralph Kawondera lead the league’s scoring charts with 10 goals apiece. Despite trailing the frontrunners, Ngoma remains confident he can reach double figures before the end of the campaign.

Speaking to Bola News, Ngoma described the Zimbabwean Premier League as one of the most competitive seasons in recent years.

“The Zimbabwean league is becoming so competitive, especially this year, and there’s no small team, so to speak, at the moment,” Ngoma said.

“Yes, the league’s top scorers are both on 10 goals each, but my personal goal is to at least reach double digits as well.”

The striker also expressed optimism that his work permit issues will soon be resolved, allowing him to make up for lost time.

“Though I have just played seven games so far due to the delay of my permit, I am looking forward to catching up in the coming games since the second round has started.”

With the second half of the season underway, Ngoma will be hoping to resume action soon and continue the impressive form that has already seen him make a strong impact for Highlanders FC.
