Mighty Warriors Receive Major Boost as Captain Msipa Joins Camp

Zimbabwe Continue Preparations for Zambia Four Nations Tournament
Zimbabwe Women’s National Team captain Emmaculate Msipa has linked up with the Mighty Warriors camp ahead of the upcoming Four Nations Tournament set to take place in Zambia.
The competition, scheduled for June 6 to 9, will provide valuable preparation for the participating teams as they gear up for future international assignments.
Zimbabwe Football Association (ZIFA) confirmed that the majority of the squad has already reported for duty, with only one player yet to join camp.
Chinyerere Expected to Complete Squad
According to ZIFA, striker Ethel Chinyerere remains the only player still expected to report to the national team setup.
The forward, who currently plays her club football in Zambia, is anticipated to join the squad once the team arrives for the tournament.
Her arrival will give the technical bench a full complement of players as preparations intensify.
Experienced Captain Returns
Msipa’s arrival is a welcome development for the Mighty Warriors as they prepare for the regional competition.
The midfielder, who plays professionally in Israel, was last involved with the national team during Zimbabwe’s Women’s Africa Cup of Nations qualifying campaign against Angola.
Her experience and leadership are expected to play an important role as Zimbabwe seeks to build a competitive team ahead of upcoming international fixtures.
Mucherera Continues National Team Journey
Also included in the squad is Ruvimbo Mucherera, who earned her first senior national team appearance during last year’s WAFCON qualifying matches.
The tournament will provide another opportunity for the forward to gain valuable international experience and continue her development at senior level.
Eyes on Olympic Qualification
The Four Nations Tournament forms part of Zimbabwe’s preparations for the second round of the African qualifiers for the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games.
The Mighty Warriors are scheduled to face Malawi in a two-legged qualifying tie later this year, with both teams battling for progression to the next stage.
The matches are expected to be played between October 5 and October 23, 2026.
