Zambia Remains 90th In Latest FIFA World Rankings

Chipolopolo Hold Position As Morocco Continues To Lead Africa
The Zambia National Team has retained its position in the latest FIFA World Rankings, remaining 90th globally despite not being involved in any international fixtures during the most recent FIFA window.
Chipolopolo’s last FIFA-recognised match came on April 1 when they suffered a heavy defeat against reigning world champions Argentina. Although the result led to a slight reduction in ranking points, Zambia’s overall standing remained unchanged.
According to the latest rankings released by FIFA, Zambia sits on 1,255.82 points and continues to occupy 90th place among the world’s football nations.
Inactivity Leaves Zambia Unmoved
With no competitive or friendly matches played during the ranking period, Chipolopolo neither gained nor lost positions on the global table.
The team remains focused on upcoming international assignments as preparations continue for future continental and World Cup qualification campaigns.
While Zambia maintained its ranking, several leading football nations strengthened their positions at the top of the standings ahead of the ongoing FIFA World Cup.
Morocco Still Africa’s Highest-Ranked Nation
Morocco continues to set the pace for African football, remaining the continent’s top-ranked side and the only African nation inside FIFA’s top ten.
The Atlas Lions occupy seventh position globally, reflecting their consistency on the international stage in recent years.
Their ranking keeps them ahead of all other African nations as they continue to build on their impressive performances in major tournaments.
Argentina Lead The World
World champions Argentina remain the highest-ranked team in international football.
The South Americans continue to lead the global standings, maintaining their place at the summit ahead of several European powerhouses.
European champions Spain occupy second place, while France sits third in the rankings.
England remains fourth as they continue their pursuit of a first major international trophy in decades, while Portugal completes the top five.
European Giants Dominate Top Ten
Five-time world champions Brazil are ranked sixth, just behind Portugal, while the Netherlands occupies eighth position.
Belgium and Germany round off the top ten, highlighting the continued dominance of European nations among football’s elite.
As international football resumes after the World Cup, Zambia will be hoping to improve its standing and move closer to the continent’s leading nations in future FIFA ranking updates.
