EXCLUSIVE: Zambia Duo Mwanza, Yobe Set for Nyasa Big Bullets Move
Lemekani Mwanza and Donewell Yobe are expected to travel to Malawi this week after agreeing terms with the reigning champions.
Zambian coaches Lemekani Mwanza and Donewell Yobe are set to begin a new chapter in Malawi after agreeing to join FCB Nyasa Big Bullets, Top Zambian Football can reveal.
The duo are expected to leave Zambia this week after reaching an agreement with the Malawian champions, where they will become part of head coach Wedson Nyirenda’s technical setup.
Mwanza is set to work as a performance analyst, while former Zambia international Yobe is expected to take up responsibilities as fitness and strikers coach.
Nyirenda Recommends Zambian Duo
Sources close to the developments say the appointments came following a recommendation from Nyirenda, who is looking to strengthen his technical team as Bullets prepare for the new campaign.
“The two have already agreed terms with Bullets. They were initially expected to travel to Malawi last month, but they were with the Zambia women’s team in Morocco during the WAFCON,” a source said.
“They are expected to leave Zambia this week. The move came through a recommendation from the head coach. They are experienced and should help him as he works on rebuilding the team.”
Mwanza Brings Performance Analysis Experience
Mwanza arrives at Bullets with considerable experience in performance analysis.
He was part of the technical setup at Power Dynamos as the Kitwe club secured a second consecutive Zambia Super League title.
The analyst has also been working with the Copper Queens in a performance analysis capacity since last year, giving him experience at both domestic and international level.
His role at Nyasa Big Bullets is expected to involve providing tactical and performance data to support Nyirenda and the rest of the technical team.
Yobe to Focus on Fitness and Attack
Yobe, meanwhile, brings experience from both his playing and coaching career.
The former Zambia and Finland striker previously worked as an assistant coach at Zanaco and is now set to take on a dual fitness and attacking role at the Malawian giants.
His experience as a former striker is expected to be particularly valuable as he works with Bullets’ forwards while also contributing to the team’s physical preparation.
The arrival of Mwanza and Yobe would give Nyirenda two additional members of his technical staff as the Malawian champions look to strengthen their squad and coaching structure for the season ahead.
