Shumah Leaves Power Dynamos for AmaZulu as Masanyinga Joins Zambia Police Service
Power Dynamos FC have confirmed the departure of striker Moses Shumah and midfielder Brian Masanyinga ahead of the upcoming season, marking a notable reshuffle within the Zambian champions’ squad.
Shumah has completed a move to South Africa’s top flight after sealing a transfer to AmaZulu FC, with both clubs reaching an agreement that brings an end to his short but highly productive spell in Zambia.
The Kenyan forward joined Power Dynamos from Kakamega Homeboyz in July last year and quickly established himself as one of the league’s most lethal attackers. He went on to win the MTN Super League Golden Boot after scoring 21 league goals and finishing the season with 23 goals across all competitions.
Despite still having a year remaining on his contract, Shumah departs Arthur Davies Stadium after an impressive debut campaign that significantly boosted his reputation across the region.
Meanwhile, Masanyinga has also left the Kitwe-based side after securing a career opportunity with the Zambia Police Service, bringing his time at the club to an end as he shifts focus away from professional football.
Power Dynamos chief executive officer Gibson Chaloba paid tribute to both players, praising their contributions and professionalism during their time at the club.
He highlighted Shumah’s impact in front of goal, noting that his scoring form played a major role in the team’s success last season, while also commending Masanyinga for his discipline and commitment.
The club expressed gratitude to both players and wished them well in their respective next steps, while also reaffirming its focus on strengthening the squad ahead of domestic and continental competitions.
With key departures confirmed, Power Dynamos are expected to be active in the transfer market as they prepare for the challenges of the new season.
