Power Dynamos goalkeeper Lawrence Mulenga has opened up about the reason behind his recent change in appearance, revealing that his decision to shave off his trademark hairstyle was inspired by a desire for a fresh start.

The goalkeeper, who played a key role in Power Dynamos’ successful title-winning campaign, surprised many supporters when he appeared with a completely different look towards the end of the season.

Fans Notice Dramatic Change

For several seasons, Mulenga had become easily recognizable for his distinctive hairstyle, a look that featured a structured top combined with a relaxed finish that drew comparisons to Cameroonian goalkeeper Andre Onana.

However, the familiar hairstyle disappeared in the closing stages of the campaign, with the shot-stopper opting for a clean-shaven look instead.

Speaking to BolaNews, Mulenga explained that the decision was motivated by a desire to embrace a new chapter.

“It was a new beginning,” Mulenga said.

“I just wanted to try something different.”

“It was a great season and it feels special to win the league title back-to-back,” he said.

“It was not an easy campaign, but we are grateful to have achieved our objective and lifted the trophy again.”
