Nkana Hand Elijah Tana Permanent Head Coach Role

Nkana Football Club have confirmed the appointment of Elijah Tana as the club’s substantive head coach ahead of the 2026/27 season.
The former Chipolopolo defender takes charge on a full-time basis after serving as interim coach during the latter stages of last season.
Tana was promoted to the role following changes to the technical bench in March, when Nkana placed then head coach Mwenya Chipepo and assistant coach Christopher Katongo on administrative leave.
During his spell as interim boss, Tana oversaw 12 matches, guiding Kalampa to three victories, five draws and four defeats as the club sought to stabilize its campaign.
Nkana have also confirmed the rest of the technical team, with Josphat Nkhoma appointed first assistant coach and Donashano Malama taking up the role of second assistant coach.
Michael Poto remains in charge of the goalkeeping department, while Simon Bwalya will continue as the club’s physical trainer.
Club Chief Executive Officer Mwansa Kapyanga expressed confidence in the newly assembled technical bench, saying the club believes the coaches have the ability to drive Nkana forward.
Kapyanga stated that the club is satisfied with the structure put in place and expects the technical team to help achieve both the sporting and long-term objectives of the institution.
He further assured the coaches of the club’s full support as preparations begin for the upcoming campaign, with Nkana aiming to improve their performances and challenge more strongly in the new season.
